In 2011, GearUp2Go was quickly outgrowing its legacy ASP shopping cart. To dominate the powersports market, they needed an enterprise-grade solution that could handle:
- Massive Data Complexity: Migrating thousands of products, each with dozens of custom options (tire offsets, apparel sizes, mounting kits).
- The “Fitment” Barrier: In the ATV/UTV world, a winch isn’t just a winch – it has to fit a specific machine. They needed a way for customers to find parts specifically for their 2015 Polaris Ranger or 2010 Yamaha Rhino.
- Inventory & Operations: Their warehouse operations were becoming unmanageable; they needed their website to “talk” directly to Fishbowl Inventory.
- Scaling Infrastructure: As traffic grew into the millions of pageviews, standard shared hosting was no longer an option.

- Enterprise Platform Migration (2011): We successfully moved GearUp2Go from their old ASP cart to Magento 1.x. This included a meticulous migration of thousands of products and their highly complex attribute sets (sizes, colors, materials, and technical specs).
- Proprietary Year/Make/Model Engine: We engineered a custom fitment system from the ground up. This allowed users to filter the entire catalog based on their specific vehicle. We built the logic to handle “Exact Fit” products versus “Universal Fit” items, ensuring that customers never ordered the wrong part.
- Fishbowl Inventory Integration: We helped bridge the gap between their digital storefront and their physical warehouse. By integrating Magento with Fishbowl, we automated the flow of orders, stock levels, and shipping data, significantly reducing manual data entry and shipping errors.
- Dedicated Server Management: We launched and maintained a dedicated server environment tailored specifically for GearUp2Go’s high-traffic requirements. This included advanced caching, security hardening, and ongoing performance monitoring to ensure 99.9% uptime during peak sales seasons.
