WebCitz started working with this client in 2011
- Client: Central Jersey Housing Resource Center
- Platform: Joomla
- Industry: Non Profit / Religious, Construction / Real Estate
- Services: Web Development, Maintenance / Support, Web Hosting
The Challenge
As a HUD-certified non-profit, CJHRC manages a massive amount of information regarding affordable housing and housing counseling. Their website needs to be highly organized so that low-to-moderate-income individuals can easily find complex documents, applications, and program details. Because the staff was already trained and comfortable with the Joomla backend, the challenge was to modernize the “front-end” user experience twice over a decade without disrupting the internal workflows the team relied on.
The WebCitz Solution
WebCitz has acted as the technical foundation for CJHRC for nearly 15 years, ensuring their mission-critical information is always available:
- Platform Continuity & Redesign: We have executed two complete website builds for CJHRC. During the most recent redesign, we honored the client’s preference for Joomla, migrating their extensive content library into a modern, mobile-responsive template that met contemporary accessibility standards.
- Complex Information Architecture: We organized the site to handle a high volume of PDF resources, housing applications, and educational content. By creating an intuitive navigation structure, we made it easier for New Jersey residents to access housing resources quickly.
- Custom Contact & Intake Forms: We developed and maintained various contact and intake forms that allow residents to reach out for counseling or information. Ensuring these forms are secure and functional is a top priority for their day-to-day operations.
- Extension & Component Debugging: Joomla’s power comes from its extensions, which can sometimes conflict during updates. WebCitz has provided years of specialized troubleshooting to keep their calendar systems, document managers, and form builders running perfectly.
- Ongoing Maintenance & Security: For over a decade, we have performed routine core updates and security patches. For a non-profit handling sensitive community information, this proactive maintenance is essential for maintaining trust and compliance.
The Result
By maintaining a stable and modern Joomla environment since 2011, WebCitz has allowed CJHRC to focus on what they do best: helping people find and maintain housing. Our ability to evolve the site’s design while keeping the underlying platform consistent has saved the organization significant time in staff retraining, ensuring their digital presence remains a reliable community asset for years to come.
