The Challenge

An Appleton-based entrepreneur with an extensive background in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sought to launch a new, licensed product line: BacPacBuddies. These were protective, themed wraps for children’s hand sanitizing bottles designed to clip onto school backpacks. Launching a new consumer product required more than just a storefront; it required a complete digital ecosystem capable of handling high-volume retail, Amazon synchronization, and localized physical fulfillment in Northeast Wisconsin.

The WebCitz Solution

WebCitz acted as a comprehensive launch partner, coordinating the technical, logistical, and creative elements of the brand:

  • Energetic E-Commerce Design: We built a custom WordPress and WooCommerce storefront with a high-energy, kid-friendly aesthetic. The design was crafted to appeal to both parents (on a safety/utility level) and children (on a fun/collectible level), using vibrant colors and intuitive navigation.
  • Linnworks Integration & Multi-Channel Sync: To support a modern retail strategy, we integrated Linnworks to synchronize orders and inventory between the WooCommerce website and Amazon. This ensured that stock levels remained accurate across all sales channels, preventing overselling during peak “Back-to-School” seasons.
  • Logistics & 3PL Consulting: Leveraging our local expertise, we worked closely with the client to identify and vet a shipping and fulfillment partner in Green Bay, WI. This allowed for a streamlined supply chain where products could be stored and shipped efficiently within the Midwest and across the country.
  • Creative Art Direction: We provided lifestyle photography consulting and creative direction for web banners and digital ads. By helping the client frame the product in real-world “back-to-school” scenarios, we increased the emotional resonance of their marketing materials.
  • Strategic Growth Partnership: Our successful execution of this project led to a long-term professional relationship with the founder, who continues to collaborate with WebCitz on various marketing and development initiatives today.

The Result

BacPacBuddies launched with a professional, enterprise-grade infrastructure that allowed a local startup to compete on a national scale. By automating the inventory flow between the web and Amazon and securing a local fulfillment partner, WebCitz enabled the client to focus on high-level CPG strategy and licensing while the digital “machine” handled the day-to-day operations.
