Best Value Cabinets

WebCitz started working with this client in 2018

The Challenge

Best Value Cabinets, a specialized distributor of RTA kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, faced a massive technical hurdle: the sheer complexity of the product catalog. Cabinet lines involve hundreds of individual SKUs – varying by width, height, and function (base, wall, specialty, accessories). Standard e-commerce layouts require users to navigate hundreds of pages, leading to high “cart abandonment.” The client needed a way to simplify this process and a technical partner capable of transforming raw manufacturer data into a functional, searchable Magento store.

The WebCitz Solution

WebCitz engineered a high-performance Magento solution that prioritized user efficiency and data accuracy:

  • Massive Data Engineering: We undertook an extremely complex data import process. This involved taking raw product catalogs from the cabinet manufacturers and building out custom CSV structures to map dimensions, pricing, and attributes into Magento. This transformed a mountain of static data into an organized, searchable database.
  • The “One-Page” Shopping Experience: We developed a custom landing page architecture that allowed customers to view an entire cabinet line on a single screen. Instead of clicking through categories, users could simply scroll through organized sections: Base Cabinets, Wall Cabinets, Specialty Units, and Accessories.
  • AJAX-Powered “Quick Add” System: To eliminate page reloads and friction, we integrated AJAX functionality. As customers selected their units, products were added to a “sidebar cart summary” instantly. This allowed a customer to “build” their entire kitchen in one session without ever leaving the page.
  • Bespoke Product Categorization: We implemented a logical hierarchy for the thousands of SKUs, ensuring that even with a massive volume of products, the user felt in control and could find specific sizes (e.g., “W3030” or “B24”) with ease.
  • Conversion-Focused Interface: The design was built specifically for the RTA buyer – contractors and DIY homeowners who need to see everything at once to ensure they aren’t missing a filler piece or a toe kick.

The Result

By moving away from the standard Magento category structure and building a custom, AJAX-driven interface, WebCitz turned a complex technical challenge into a competitive advantage. Best Value Cabinets was able to offer a shopping experience that was significantly faster and more intuitive than national competitors, proving that WebCitz can handle both the “heavy lifting” of data science and the “fine-tuning” of modern user experience.
