YC Forklifts

WebCitz started working with this client in 2019

The Challenge

Selling heavy machinery like Yale forklifts, Hyster trucks, and JCB construction equipment online requires more than just a standard e-commerce grid. Their primary hurdles included:

  1. Technical Specification Accuracy: Every forklift has unique variables – lift height, capacity, fuel type (Electric, ICE, Li-Ion), and tire types (Cushion vs. Pneumatic).
  2. Design Fidelity: The YCForklifts team had a specific internal design mockup. They needed a development team that could code it exactly to their specifications without the bloat of a generic theme.
  3. Inventory Navigation: Customers needed to quickly filter through hundreds of new and used units to find the specific machine for their warehouse or job site needs.

The WebCitz Solution

We acted as the “engineering department” for their marketing team, building a high-performance WordPress site from the ground up:

  • Bespoke WordPress Coding: Rather than using a pre-made template, we hand-coded a custom WordPress site based on their internal design mockups. This ensured the site was lightweight, fast, and 100% aligned with the Yale Chase brand identity.
  • Custom Vehicle/Equipment Pages: We engineered a custom post type system specifically for their inventory. This allowed YCForklifts to easily manage “Vehicle Pages” for their forklifts, aerial lifts, and utility carts, each with detailed technical specs and high-resolution galleries.
  • Filter-Driven Inventory System: We implemented a sophisticated search and filter system. This allowed warehouse managers and procurement specialists to sort the fleet by brand (Yale, JCB, Hyster, etc.) and equipment type, drastically reducing the friction in the sales funnel.
  • Local Authority in City of Industry: By building the site with an SEO-friendly structure focused on their City of Industry hub, we helped them solidify their digital presence in one of Southern California’s primary industrial zones.
  • Lead Generation Optimization: We integrated clear “Request a Quote” and “Rental Inquiry” calls to action on every vehicle page, ensuring that the transition from browsing to a sales conversation was seamless.

The Result

For five years, WebCitz provided the technical foundation that allowed YCForklifts to effectively market their heavy equipment to the Southern California market. The hand-coded site provided a professional, reliable experience for customers looking for everything from narrow-aisle reach trucks to heavy-duty sit-down forklifts. While the material handling landscape in California has continued to evolve (with brands like Papé now carrying the torch in City of Industry), the digital work we performed for YCForklifts set a high standard for how heavy equipment should be represented online.
