Little Orphans Animal Rescue

WebCitz started working with this client in 2023

The Challenge

For a non-profit, the website is the primary bridge between homeless pets and potential adopters. The rescue needed:

  1. Emotional Impact: A design that could convey the personality and needs of the animals instantly through modern visual storytelling.
  2. Dynamic Pet Listings: A way to automatically pull “Available Pets” from their management software without manual double-entry.
  3. Donor Professionalism: A site that reflected the generosity and vision of their supporters, ensuring the rescue looked as professional and established as it is.

The WebCitz Solution

We created a “Digital Sanctuary” that prioritizes engagement and ease of adoption:

  • Custom High-End Design: We moved away from standard non-profit templates to build a bespoke experience. This included:
    • Cinematic Video Overlays: We utilized high-quality video backgrounds to create an immediate emotional connection with visitors.
    • Fluid Animations: Subtle, modern animations throughout the site guide the user’s journey from the mission statement to the adoption applications.
  • RescueGroups.org Integration: This was a critical functional requirement. We seamlessly integrated the site with RescueGroups, ensuring that as soon as an animal is listed in their system, it automatically populates on the website with photos, descriptions, and adoption status. This keeps the “Available Pets” page 100% accurate in real-time.
  • Simplified Adoption Funnel: We built clear, easy-to-use digital applications for both cat and dog fostering/adoption. By making the paperwork digital and mobile-friendly, we lowered the barrier for potential pet parents.
  • Mission-Driven Storytelling: We built dedicated sections for “Happy Tails” (success stories), volunteer opportunities, and donor recognition, creating a community hub for animal lovers in the Montello area.
  • Managed Hosting & Support: We continue to provide the hosting and technical maintenance for the site, ensuring it stays secure and fast so the volunteers can focus on care rather than code.

The Result

The new website has significantly elevated Little Orphans’ digital presence, providing a professional and emotionally resonant platform for their lifesaving work. The automation of pet listings has saved the volunteers countless hours, while the modern design has made the adoption process more accessible than ever.

As a bonus, the project was so inspiring that one of our own WebCitz staff members ended up adopting a new family member from the rescue!
