The Challenge
Crivitz Resale was a unique local shop in a high-traffic tourist corridor. The owner wanted to capture the attention of travelers passing through Crivitz on their way to the Northwoods. They needed more than just a site; they needed a brand identity that looked professional and a marketing strategy that reached people before they drove past the storefront.
The WebCitz Solution
WebCitz worked as a creative partner for several years, building a brand from the ground up:
- Custom Joomla Build with Flash Animation: We worked closely with the owner on mockups to ensure the site matched the “treasure hunt” feel of the shop. Using custom HTML/CSS and Flash animation, we created a visually engaging experience that was unique for the time, providing a dynamic look that simple builders couldn’t replicate.
- Logo & Brand Identity Design: We provided comprehensive graphic design services, including the creation of their logo. This helped the shop present a professional, cohesive image across their signage, website, and social media.
- Early Facebook Ad Strategy: Long before “social media marketing” was a standard term for small businesses, we helped the owner set up a Facebook page and run targeted ads. We specifically focused on reaching tourists and travelers, successfully encouraging them to stop in and browse while they were in the area.
- Inventory Showcasing & E-commerce Prep: We listed high-value items on the Facebook page to drive immediate interest and consulted on building out an e-commerce area for valuable collectibles, laying the groundwork for a multi-channel sales approach.
- Multi-Year Creative Support: Throughout the shop’s lifespan, we provided ongoing graphic design and technical support, ensuring their marketing materials and digital presence stayed fresh.
The Result
Crivitz Resale became a digital pioneer for small-town Wisconsin businesses. The combination of a custom-designed website and early Facebook advertising helped the shop maximize its location on Hwy 141, drawing in tourists who otherwise might have driven right past. While the store eventually closed in the mid-2010s, the project remains a great example of how WebCitz uses high-end design and proactive marketing to help “Main Street” businesses compete with larger retailers.
