The Challenge
Down To Earth Oils has been a staple of the Wilmington community for over 30 years, offering artisanal essential oils and apothecary-style body care. However, like many specialized brick-and-mortar shops, their digital presence needed to catch up to their physical reputation. They had a specific list of technical “pain points” and website improvements that needed expert attention but didn’t necessarily require a months-long overhaul.
The WebCitz Solution
We maximized a 10-hour block of professional development time to perform a high-impact “tune-up” of their digital storefront:
- Targeted Website Maintenance: We performed a series of technical updates to ensure the site’s core platform remained stable and secure, resolving small bugs that had accumulated over time.
- UX & UI Refinements: Within the allotted time, we focused on improving the user experience, making it easier for customers to navigate their vast collection of essential oils, blends, and body care products.
- Platform Optimization: We addressed performance bottlenecks to ensure that the site loaded quickly and functioned smoothly, particularly for mobile users who might be browsing while visiting their retail location in The Cotton Exchange.
- Consultative Improvements: We provided professional insight on how to better showcase their unique “apothecary” brand online, ensuring their decades of expertise in aromatherapy were reflected in the website’s content and flow.
The Result
By using a structured block of time, WebCitz provided Down To Earth Oils with an affordable way to access high-level web expertise. We cleared their technical “to-do list,” allowing the owners to get back to what they do best – formulating original aromas and serving their loyal customer base. This project demonstrates our ability to provide value-driven results for local small businesses, regardless of the project’s scale.
