Faced with the challenge of connecting high-value auction events to a selective audience, Yoder Sold partnered with WebCitz to transform their marketing from traditional print to targeted digital campaigns. The resulting strategy drove qualified leads and helped fill auction schedules with serious bidders and consignors.
The Challenge
In the competitive world of high-value auctions, success depends on the ability to reach a very specific audience: serious collectors and estate executors. Yoder Sold faced several challenges:
- Niche Audience Targeting: Finding individuals interested in specifically “collectible car auctions” or those in need of “private estate liquidation” requires more than general advertising.
- Rapid Turnaround Requirements: Auction marketing has a “hard deadline.” The campaigns needed to generate maximum buzz and lead captures in the weeks leading up to an event.
- Lead Quality vs. Quantity: They didn’t just need “clicks”; they needed registered bidders and individuals with high-value collections to consign.
- Transitioning from Traditional to Digital: Moving away from traditional print ads to a data-driven digital approach to lower the cost-per-lead.
The WebCitz Solution
We implemented a “Precision-Targeting” roadmap, leveraging a tiered marketing strategy to dominate the Central Wisconsin auction market:
- WordPress Lead Generation Site (2019): We initially developed a streamlined WordPress website. This served as the central hub for all auction information, providing a professional “digital home” that featured high-resolution photo galleries of upcoming lots and integrated lead capture forms.
- Multi-Platform Paid Advertising: We launched and managed aggressive ad campaigns to fuel their auction events:
- Google Ads: Targeted high-intent search terms (e.g., “classic car auctions Wisconsin”) to capture active buyers.
- Facebook Ads: Leveraged demographic and interest-based targeting to reach car enthusiasts and estate planners throughout the Midwest.
- ClickFunnels Integration: As the relationship evolved, we moved toward a more aggressive ClickFunnels strategy. We built specialized funnels designed for “narrowed-in” targeting. These funnels focused on:
- Bidding Registration: Streamlining the path for a visitor to become a registered bidder.
- Consignment Acquisition: Creating specific paths for estate owners to request a valuation or schedule an auction.
- Continuous Optimization: We utilized A/B testing on landing pages and ad copy to ensure the lowest possible cost-per-lead, ensuring Yoder Sold’s marketing budget was used with maximum efficiency.
The Result
Between 2019 and the conclusion of our partnership, Yoder Sold significantly expanded its reach, consistently filling its auction schedules with high-value estate and automotive events. Our work transformed their digital strategy into a repeatable, scalable system that provided predictable results for every new auction. While the partnership ended with the unfortunate passing of Mr. Yoder, WebCitz is proud to have served as the technical and marketing anchor that helped cement his legacy as a premier Wisconsin auctioneer.
